Municipal Law
Our attorneys have been representing New York municipalities for over 30 years, with direct responsibility for the day-to-day needs of municipal governments, including zoning, planning, financing, local legislation, environmental matters, and real property taxation. We act as general counsel to towns in Western and Central New York and as special counsel for towns throughout New York.
Because of our firm’s extensive litigation experience, municipalities can be secure in the event claims are made that outside counsel will not have to be hired to defend the claims, keeping defense costs low and speeding up the ultimate resolution. We also represent private clients seeking approvals by municipal boards on matters such as land use and zoning. We have handled over a hundred CPLR Article 78 proceedings challenging municipal decisions representing both petitioners and respondents.
